York T302 Diamond Folding Treadmill Review

The York T302 treadmill really is an ideal choice for those looking for a top end folding treadmill packed full of features. As a high end machine it’s got enough to keep even club runners and those training for running events happy.

One thing that sets this treadmill apart from others in the price range is the huge 3.0 HP continuous duty motor. The motor has an in-built fan to ensure that the smooth, consistent delivery of power remains cool. This high torque motor can handle a maximum user weight of 150kg (that’s 23 stone in old money) and the running deck is nice and roomy too at 51cm (W) and 142cm(L)

The console has all the usual features that you would expect from a machine of this caliber but we were particularly impressed with the combination LCD and LED displays, which echoes those that you would see in a commercial grade product. Another sweetener is the quick access buttons on the side grips, which allow you to adjust the speed and incline of the treadmill. Some may find this useful, some may not, but the point is York have added this feature and its there for you should you need it.

As well as the built in grip sensors for heart rate, the T302 features a wireless chest strap sensor. This is backed up with 3 heart rate controlled programmes. In total there are 22 programmes including 3 that can be created by the user, ensuring all muscle groups, goals and workout targets can be set and achieved. In our opinion this should be more than enough but should you need more you can always get creative with those user programmes.

The bells and whistles don’t stop there. The T302 has a few nice little touches including a magazine holder and jack for IPods or any mp3 player with a 3.5mm connection. The cup holders on each side of the console are generously sized and York have even stuck a handy heart rate chart to the right hand side cup holder – perfect for keeping in the right zone while you workout, for those of you who want a high end treadmill but not too interested in the science of heart rate control.

Should you not as wish to have the T302 in pride of place in your home or if there are little ones around, you can always wheel it away. The non marking wheels and “easi-lift” fold-up system make it easy to do so. Equally, the soft-drop mechanism is good safety feature for youngsters who figure out how to unlock Mummy and Daddy’s new treadmill.

We had to admit that the T302 is a solid machine. Its sturdy and you get the feeling that even at full speed, this treadmill isn’t going to budge.

It’s got an excellent warranty too. The frame has a lifetime warranty, the motor is covered for 10 years and rest of the machine for 3 years on site parts and labour.

So in summary, the T302 is a well built and feature packed treadmill with bags of functionality.
