BH Fitness Jet Set Treadmill Review

The BH Fitness Jet Set treadmill is aptly named. The first thing you notice is the single column supporting the console and handles and once you power it up the blue ambi-lights certainly give it a dynamic look.

We found a video by BH Fitness of the mill in action, it shows the clever double folding mechanism and how easy it is to use – see below for video.

The Jet Set is certainly a stunning looking machine – but you don’t buy one to just look at it! So is its beauty only skin deep?

We’re pleased to say no. BH Fitness have a reputation for building innovative but practical machines and the Jet Set is a great example. It looks superb and it behaves like it looks. From the easy set-up – it requires very little work, just take it out of the box, plug it in and run – to the smooth operation and variation in the pre-set programmes it really is a pleasure to use.

We were surprised the difference just having a single column in front of you made instead of the usual two. It gives you the sense of much more space than there is – it’s actually quite a short deck – and makes the running experience very comfortable.

Some of us were concerned whether the design would make it unstable in use, however, even at top speeds with one of our bigger runners we found it to be solid with barely any movement – other than the belt of course :0)

The 2.75 BHP motor practically purrs in operation and easily shifts the belt up to its top speed of 10mph, and for the environmentally conscious you’ll be happy to hear it’s a low energy efficient motor. That’s also good news for the person who pays the electricity bill because, if you’re like us, you’ll be seduced by this machine totally and want to spend a lot of time on it!

This is obviously great for achieving your objective for buying a treadmill, namely to get fit, toned-up and maybe lose the odd pound or two. The Jet Set comes with 5 pre-set programs with 5 different levels of difficulty to give you something to measure your progress. It also has a heart rate program (chest strap not included) to regulate the belt speed based on your pulse to keep you in the optimum zone for fat-burning.

Okay this isn’t as much as you’d get with some other models in this price range, for instance, the Nordictrack C2500 comes with 16 plus the very useful iFit software for less the price, but this didn’t dampen our enthusiasm for it.

For those with limited space the BH Fitness Jet Set folds up very easily and almost flat with its hydraulic Soft Drop System and is fairly easy to move around with its built-in wheels. The Jet Set can be stored both horizontally and vertically. This makes it extra versatile when looking for a storage space as it could possibly slide in between a cupboard and the wall or at the back of the garage and you’d still have room for all that junk – not something you can do can other treadmills.

The console looks stylish and the LED displays are easy to read, see below.

It has a good warranty with lifetime cover on the frame and motor, plus 2 years parts and labour on everything else.

Review Summary - In Brief

The BH Fitness Jet Set really stands out from its rivals with its stunning looks, ease of use and very practical storage mechanism. The deck is comfortable and feels much bigger than it actually is thanks to the single column at the front. It can't match the NordicTrack or Reebok in this price range for programmes but it more than makes up for this with its functionality and style. It will certainly help you achieve your fitness goals as it will tempt you to get on it every time you walk passed it! If you like style and innovation the Jet Set is very hard to beat, if you want a bit more variation in your training maybe look at the NordicTrack C2500 mentioned earlier.
