The Bremshey Treadline Pacer T treadmill we're reviewing here is the new 2009 model and when you've tried running on it at it's top speed of 12.4 mph you'll know why they've called it Pacer - it's fast!!!!
Jane, one of our trainers, is always complaining she can out run the treadmills we review but she was definitely breaking into a sweat on this one!
It's powerful 3 HP motor can certainly shift the generous size belt, and when you tilting along at 12.4 mph it's re-assuring to have a the large running deck underneath. Most mill runners will find 10 mph is more than plenty and we get the impression that it could keep going for hours at this speed.
So apart from being one of the fastest treadmill costing under £1,000 on the market, what else can it do? Quite alot! It has 12 programs including manual, 7 pre-set profiles, 3 user profiles and 1 heart rate control programme which is enough to keep most runners happy.
Combine these programmes with its speed and incline of up to 12% and you've got a very challenging workout for years to come. Of course you don't have to run at top speed but it's there when you want it.
We think the Pacer is better value for money than the slightly higher spec Bremshey Control and it also compares quite favourably to other models in the same price range. However, with other machines in direct competition with virtual personal trainer functions such as iFit and T-Ware (see Proform 585 V and Nordictrack C2500) it doesn't stand out as an automatic choice.
This shouldn't put you off buying the Pacer as it all depends on personal preferences. Some see trainer software as a bit of a gimic whilst others love having the 'trainer' to get them going. This is a quality running machine that will certainly help you to get fit, lose weight, tone-up or meet whatever targets you've set yourself - it just does it with less fancy software.
The console unit is easy to use with big buttons but the LED display windows look a bit dated compared to backlit LCD ones, again it's down to personal tastes - see below. It will certainly tell you everything you need to know and it's easy to read - even when bombing along at 12.4 mph!
As far as storage and mobility are concerned we found it easy to fold and move around thanks to the wheels.
Accell, the manufacturers of Bremshey and Tunturi, make reliable, quality machines and they do put their money where their mouth is when it comes to the warranty. You get a 15 year frame and motor warranty and all other components are covered with a 2 years parts and 2 years labour on site warranty.

Pros and Cons Reviewers Ratings
In brief: The Bremshey Treadline Pacer T is a quality machine with plenty of variation in its programmes to keep you motivated to get fit and stay fit. It's a very comfortable machine to run on with its huge deck, good shock absorption and solid base. It also looks very good value for money thanks to some good discounts by online retailers - see below. It does have some serious competition and if you like hi-tech functions then maybe the NordicTrack is a better option for you. If that doesn't interest you then the Pacer is tough to beat at this price and we have no problem recommending it.
