The Bremshey Trail is a top quality treadmill, aimed at the purist who wants a treadmill that's built to last.
This treadmill is solid and we can see that Bremshey have used top class components. This is reflected in the maximum user weight which is an impressive 150 kg (330 lbs)
The Trail has a heavy duty motor, with an output of 3 horse power on continuous duty. We found that as expected, it performed admirably, with a smooth and consistent delivery of power. The deck itself was comfortable and lived up to our high expectations.
The motor powers the treadmill up to maximum speed of 18kph, all the way up to 12% on the incline.
The running belt measures 52 x 150cm, which is 20 x 59 inches. This is a generous size and compares very well with other mills in the price range such as the York T302.
The Trail comes from the makers of Tunturi treadmills, the only medically certified treadmill manufacturer. As such the belt itself is well cushioned and because of this we would certainly recommend the Bremshey for those who want to look after their joints.
The Bremshey Trail has 9 built in programmes which should be enough to keep your workouts varied, but should you wish to mix things up you can create your own programmes and assign them to one of the 2 user profiles (funnily enough named
`user profile one` and `user profile two`). Some may say that the Trail has limited programmes but we would have to disagree. Bremshey are known for rock solid equipment that is easy to use and the Trail is no exception. You can be as creative with the settings as you like, safe in the knowledge that you are running on a top class, sturdy treadmill.

The LED console is clear and easy to read - no straining to read your workout data here! As well as the larger display you get smaller displays dedicated to the workout duration, incline, distance covered, speed and heart rate. A nice extra feature are the quick access buttons on each of the handles
- one for adjusting the incline, the other takes care of the speed. This makes the Bremshey Trail ideal for those who are using a treadmill for recovery, or just feel more comfortable using the handrails.
Going back to the console, it's a decent size and includes the expected bottle holders. A must have for those who need to keep the refreshments close at hand.
To really unlock the potential of this treadmill, or if you are aiming to make sure you burn the calories as effectively as possible , you should use the built in heart rate control programmes. To do this you will need a compatible wireless chest belt. Check with your retailer as they may not include one as standard. If you need to, spend a few extra quid and buy a compatible Polar chest belt. This will enable you to get the maximum benefit from each workout. Trust us you will not regret it.
The pulse grips are a useful feature as well. Just hold on to them during your workout and in a few seconds your current heart rate will be displayed on the LCD screen.
The treadmill folds up out of the way when not in use. It is hydraulically assisted so it drops slowly and safely and was quite easy to lift up, click and lock into place. The built in wheels are just the ticket for moving the Trail out of the way when it's not in use too. Keep the safety key somewhere safe for peace of mind if there are youngsters around.
Finally should anything go wrong, you have a 2 year parts and labour guarantee for peace of mind.
