Fuel Fitness F63 Review

Best UK Price              Specification              Pros and Cons              Reviewers Ratings

Fuel Fitness F63 TreadmillThe Fuel Fitness F63's 2.5 HP motor has continuous duty with a 4.0 HP peak that powers the treadmill up to 20 kph (12 mph) and the incline goes all the way up to 15% .

Because of the high performance motor the F63 has a maximum user weight of 130 kg

Although at 137.5 cm long it's not the longest treadmill that we have seen in the price range, the 50 cm width compares well with other treadmills costing about the same. We felt that the 1.6mm thick belt worked well with the 18mm thick deck to give a well cushioned run.

To be frank, the F63 doesn't have a huge range of built in programmes but if you need more than the 5 that it comes with, you can also create two of your own with any combination of speed or incline, or go for full manual control. The built in programmes cover a range of speed and incline intervals as well as a heart rate controlled programme.

The Fuel F63 is compatible with Polar chest belts, or any that operate on the 5khz frequency. When you are participating in a heart rate controlled programme, the treadmill will automatically alter the intensity of the workout by adjusting either the speed or incline. This ensures that you are working out in the correct heart rate zone so that whether you are running to lose a few pounds or get fitter, your runs will be as safe and effective as possible.

Should you wish a quick snapshot of your pulse when you are not wearing a chest belt, just grab hold of the pulse grip sensors and in a few seconds your current pulse rate will be displayed on the screen.

Those who prefer manual control will like the quick access keys to adjust the speed and incline. You can change the speed and incline to various presets with just one touch. We found that the motor made the changes quickly, so you won't be hanging around waiting to get up to speed or make things a little easier.

If that is not enough then there are also speed and incline buttons built into the F63's hand rails. These type of controls give even more confidence as you don't need to lean forward of take your hands off the rails during a strenuous hill walk, for example.

The F63 has a great console. It is a decent size and includes those all important cup holders so you can always keep the refreshments handy.

The display is a good size too and gives you all the feedback you will need during your workout including:

  • Distance covered
  • Incline
  • Current speed
  • Theoretical calories burned
  • Time elapsed
  • Current programme
  • Pulse

  • Should anything go wrong, then we believe that the warranty on the F63 will give you great peace of mind. You get 3 years parts and labour and a lifetime cover on the frame and motor. Please check with your retailer as these can change and may be subject to terms and conditions.

There are a pair of fans to keep you cool during your workout. We found these came in very useful, especially on the hot day of our test run. We also kept the drinks holders fully stocked and recommend that you do too. We can't stress enough the importance of proper hydration. The console also has a pair of speakers built in.

As you may know from our previous reviews, the speakers on some treadmills can sound pretty poor, but we were happy with the sound that came from those on the F63. The sound was clear with a fair bit of bass too.
