Reebok T3.2 Folding Treadmill Review

The Reebok T3.2 folding treadmill is the entry level treadmill in Reebok’s highly successfull performance series of fitness equipment.

The home assembley requirements of many treadmills can be time consuming and a challenge. Not so with this Reebok treadmill. The machine is over 90% assembled in the box. To complete assembly takes no longer than 15 minutes and just requires bolting the uprights into place, securing the console in the correct positon and screwing on a few pieces of trim. All very easy to do!

Once assembled, the quality of this treadmill is clear to see. As the heart of the treadmill is a powerful 2 horsepower continuous duty motor that quietly powers the running deck to a maximum speed of 10 miles per hour. As well as a decent top speed, this treadmill features a maximum incline of 12%.

The running deck on the Reebok T3.2 is 45cm wide and 130cm long. Most compact treadmills have a running belt width of 40cm, which is just too narrow to be able to comfortably run on, but the extra 5cm width on this Reebok performance series treadmill is wide enough to accomodate running. The deck length of 130cm is long enough for all user who are under 6 feet tall. In short, Reebok have delivered a true running machine that doesn’t take up a huge amount of floor space!

The unique feature of this treadmill is its cushioning technology. In addition to the standard elastometer cushioning on the deck found on most treadmills, the T3.2 features Reebok’s swing arm suspension technology. This results in the entire deck moving to absorb impact. The greatest movement (and maximum absorbsion) is towards the front of the running deck where heel impact occurs, whilst minimal movement toward the end of the deck provides for a solid surface for pushing off strides. As well as looking after joints, this treadmill feels great to run on!

When it comes to the console, simplicity & easy of use are the order of the day. The blue back-lit LCD screen displays workout feedback as well as a profiles of programmes. There are simple arrow up / down keys for adjusting both the speed and incline level of the treadmill in addition to 4 quick speed and 4 quick inline keys.

The treadmill has 8 pre-set programmes to provide workout variety: Target time, target distance, target calories, 15 / 20 / 45 minute speed programmes, weight loss and heart rate control. Whilst this may not seem like a huge number of programmes, some of the progreammes such as the weight loss and the speed programmes offer 7 levels of intensity. Exercise efficiency is ensured by the inclusion of a heart rate control programme – something that is very rare to see on a treadmill at this price point. The HRC programme does require the use of a Polar compatible chest belt, which is not included as standard.

The folding mechansim is pretty standard with a self lock latch and a nice soft drop. In comparison to most other treadmills, moving the T3.2 is easy thanks to a pop-up trolley wheel. The Reebok T3.2 treadmill comes the sort of warranty you’d expect from a market leading brand: 10 years on the motor as well as a full 2 years on site parts and labour.

Review Summary - In Brief

Solid build quality, swing arm suspension, and a heart rate control programme at under £700? The T3.2 has it all and is a real winner from the best known brand in fitness equipment. This treadmill is hassle free to assemble, powerful & quiet, space efficient, kind to your joints and has enough programmes to provide variety. We have no hesitation in recommending this treadmill to any runner under 6 feet in height. For those over 6ft tall, the running deck may be a little short.
