Smooth Fitness Treadmill Reviews
“Large, stable machines packed with enough features to shame NASA.”
Smooth Fitness treadmills are only available from their own website or through affiliate websites as they don’t sell direct to retailers. They grew very quickly back in the 1990s and become one of the biggest selling brands in the US. They were the first fitness equipment manufacturer to see the huge potential of online selling.
Whilst this may seem to prevent retailers offering discounts and restrict competition, Smooth’s treadmills still look very competitively priced bearing in mind the amount of features they include. It also can work against them, so don’t be surprised if some retailers try to put you off Smooth Fitness machines, it’s simply because they can’t sell them.
Smooth can’t seem to make a treadmill that isn’t packed with features. To break into the market they had to do something to encourage the discerning US treadmill user away from the tried and tested brands such as Tunturi and NordicTrack, so they built in an impressive range of features and functions not normally associated with mid-price range machines.
For example, the Smooth Fitness 5.25e, one of their entry model mills, costs around £650 and boasts a wide running track, motion control, heart rate programmes, a 2.5 HP motor, all covered by an extensive warranty.
The warranty is one of the best we’ve seen in this price range – the frame is covered for life, the motor for 10 years and everything else for 2 years with on-site repairs and replacement of faulty parts.
WPrices start around £480 and go up to £1,100 for their top of the range model.
