The Weslo M5 treadmill is a budget model so don't expect too many features on a quality machine. Having said that, it does have something for the beginner or casual user but it's definitely not for the serious runner.
If you're on a budget then you shouldn't raise your expectations too high when spending as little as £250 on a running machine. If you can afford a little more you will get a lot more! You might consider Horizon or the Proform 3.6 as both brands have a lot to offer for under £400.
If your limit is around £250 then also take a look at the Carl Lewis MOTC99 Treadmill which to our mind is the better machine.
Without being too scathing the Weslo M5 is not a quality machine and its weaknesses out weigh the low price tag. You could end up with a machine that does nothing to inspire you to get on and start training.
Our reviewers felt it was unstable even at mid range speeds, it's underpowered and the display is ...well see for yourself. Enough said!
It does have four manual incline levels to add a little extra to your training which is 2 more than the Carl Lewis MOTC99 and we have seen smaller running decks than this one. Like most treadmills it also has a cushioned deck and to be fair was quite comfortable for a budget model.
It comes with a two year on site warranty on parts and labour which is very reasonable for a machine costing as little as this. But you wouldn't buy a machine because of a good warranty!
In brief: The Weslo M5 is a budget model and therefore we shouldn't expect too much from it. It does have a reasonable sized running deck with a comfortable feel, plus it's backed up with an excellent warranty for a low-priced machine. However, even at such a low price it still has competition that offer better value for money.
