Reebok One GT40S Treadmill Review

One of the most well-known brands in home exercise, Reebok, is constantly releasing new models on the market with an ever-increasing array of features to help you get fit and stay motivated. On paper, its GT40s folding treadmill appears to be a well-specced machine that should offer a good workout experience for fitness enthusiasts of a lot of different levels. Priced at a little above many entry-level models, it boasts a top speed of 16kph and 12 levels of incline, which should provide a challenging workout for almost everyone that isn’t a hardcore runner. So, how does it compare to other similarly priced treadmills available out there at the moment? We took a close-up look at one to find out, here’s what we found…

First, as always, the assembly. And, thankfully, GT40s is relatively easy and straightforward to put together, making it accessible to users of any technical level. The instructions provided are clear and easy to follow, which helps to ensure that the assembly process is straightforward and stress-free. On average, assembly is likely to take about an hour (we did it faster, but that’s our job!), and new owners can expect to have their new treadmill up and running in pretty much no time at all.

The assembly process for the GT40s is not overly complicated, and most users should be able to put it together with little difficulty. Even if you’re not particularly handy with tools or have never assembled a treadmill before, you should be able to get this machine up and running with minimal fuss. This means the GT40s is a good option for anyone who wants to set up a home gym but doesn’t want to spend hours putting together complicated equipment. With its clear instructions and user-friendly design, the GT40s is a great choice for anyone looking for a quality treadmill that is easy to assemble and use.

In terms of looks, the GT40s has a black and red colour scheme that not only looks stylish but also blends well with most domestic settings. The combination of the two colours gives the treadmill a sporty and dynamic look, making it an attractive addition to any home gym or workout space. The red accents on the machine add a touch of colour that helps to break up the black, creating a contrast that is both eye-catching and modern. The colour scheme is not too flashy or overpowering, which helps to create a balanced and harmonious aesthetic that won’t clash with other decor in your home.

The build quality of the GT40s is solid, providing a stable and sturdy platform for a variety of workouts. While it may not have the highest-end materials or construction, this is reflected in the price and it is well-built enough to withstand regular use in most home environments.

The frame is made of durable steel that can support users up to 110kg in weight, providing a stable and sturdy platform for running and walking. The folding design is also well-executed, allowing it to be stored compactly when not in use, which is especially useful for smaller home gyms.

While the build quality of the GT40s is not top-of-the-line, it still provides a high level of reliability for all but the most demanding home environments out there. With proper care and maintenance, this treadmill should last for years of regular use, providing owners with a dependable and effective workout option.

One minor downside to the GT40s is its shorter running deck size, which may be a drawback for taller users or for those who prefer a more extended stride length. However, the deck is still long enough to provide a decent running surface, and the cushioning system helps to offset any discomfort. With a deck size of 43cm x 130cm, the GT40s offers a decent amount of space for running or walking, although it may feel a bit cramped for taller users that are 6ft or more, or if you’re doing a lot of sprint work.

One of the standout features of this treadmill is its cushioning system, which provides excellent shock absorption and reduces the impact on your joints. This is particularly beneficial for runners who may be recovering from an injury or for those with sensitive knees or hips. This cushioning system makes for a comfortable and smooth running experience, helping to reduce fatigue and allowing you to focus on your performance.

In terms of functions, the GT40s comes with 36 onboard workouts that offer a variety of types of programs to choose from. Whether you’re looking to burn fat, build endurance, or train for a race, there is a workout for every type of goal. Additionally, the console is user-friendly, with easy-to-use controls and a clear display that shows your speed, distance, time, calories burned, and heart rate using large, bright and easy-to-read characters.

Another consideration is the price point of this model. For the money, it offers a good range of features, is nicely put together and delivers a decent run. If you’re a Reebok fan and appreciate the brand’s quality and design, this is an excellent option that won’t disappoint.

For complete peace of mind, the GT40s comes with 2-year on-site parts and labour manufacturer’s warranty.

Review Summary - In Brief

Overall, this is a well-built and reliable machine that delivers a comfortable and challenging running experience and one that will suit most households. With its cushioning system, versatile workout programs, and user-friendly console, the GT40s is a solid choice for anyone looking to improve their fitness and overall health. That being said, it's not the latest version as the new Reebok GT40z is now available. The GT40z is a newer model with higher spec including a wider running deck and higher top speed, as well as the addition of Bluetooth capabilities for interactive training with Zwift, KinoMap and more, but crucially, actually costs less right now thanks to an offer. Also available without spending any more is the impressive DKN EzRun which has a much wider running deck and comes pre-assembled, and has KinoMap options too. All this means that while the GT40s is a perfeclty good treadmill, there are better options out there right now.
