Reebok I-Run Treadmill Review

This model has been replaced by Reebok with a new current version, which we’ve also reviewed. Be sure to check out our review of the latest i-Run 3 from Reebok which you can read here!

The Reebok I-Run treadmill is designed for a very specific user, namely the keep fit user with limited space who wants to add a cardio workout to their home routine. If this is you then the I-Run will do everything you want it to do, if not then we suggest you to consider another machine such as the Proform 3.6 which will do much more but you’ll have to pay extra. For the job it’s designed to do the i-run does it very well, that is, it folds up to a neat compact size for easy storage – it will even fit under most beds! It’s easy to use and very, very portable due to its size and light frame. For the style conscious it’s available in blue, white, pink or the ever-fashionable black – visit Sweatband.com for more photos of the i-run. This is one of the few treadmills we’ve come across that requires no assembly – you just get it out of the box, plug it in and you’re off. Although it’s not exactly bursting with extras it does have some good features such as heart rate monitoring via hand grips, 6 pre-set programs and two incline levels (manual setting) which due to some recent price reductions are starting to make it look better value for money. The running deck is quite comfortable and whilst it’s a good length it is a little narrow, but as it’s a compact machine you wouldn’t expect a large deck. The motor is good and reasonably quiet (so you won’t disturb the neighbours) and with a top speed of 8.6 mph it can give you a pretty good workout. Its top speed is some way higher than most peoples jogging pace so you could use it for interval training, shorter fast running or slower longer runs to vary your training. The two year parts and labour on-site warranty is about par for a machine of this price.

Review Summary - In Brief

The Reebok I-Run treadmill is a very well designed machine to do the job in hand, that is, to give you a workout in the comfort of your home to help lose weight and get fit, and then to fold up and slide under the bed when not. If you're into keep fit and want to add a walking/jogging workout then it will do the trick. See our review of the new Reebok i-Run 3 here.
