York Fitness Treadmill Reviews

A trusted name in fitness with a great track record

York Fitness treadmills have developed a range of quality machines with a good reputation for reliabilty and durability.

York have been around for over 70 years in the fitness industry and built a trusted brand for themselves. Their models have traditionally been targeted at the mid-price bracket with entry-level machines available from around £350 with a number of models priced up to £800.

Recently their new Diamond range has taken them into the premium treadmill market with quality machines with a respectable set of features – prices start at around the £1,000 mark.

As you would expect the lower priced models have lower specification but do come with enough features to keep a moderate runner satisfied.

If you’ll be using your treadmill for walking or light jogging the T101 Heritage with a top speed of 8mph would be sufficient. A pulse sensor, incline options and built-in programmes are impressive features on a machine available at under £400.

The Diamond range are an altogether different machine. We like the powerful 2.5 and 3 HP motors giving a top speed of 12mph, enough for most runners! They boast good sized running decks and a 12% maximum incline and an array of programmes designed to challenge even the serious runners.

As with other top range machines the York Fitness Diamond range have heart-rate controlled programmes which can vary the speed of the belt depending on the rate of your heart. This allows you to train at your optimum ‘cardio-zone’ for fast calorie-burning workouts.

York Fitness are covered by a 10 year warranty on frame and motor plus 2 years full manufacturers onsite parts and labour – 3 years for the Diamond range. If they’re happy to cover the motor for that long it’s a good indication of their reliability!
