Nordic Track treadmills are made by Icon Health and Fitness who are one of the biggest producers of exercise equipment in the world. Their impressive portfolio of subsidiary companies includes Reebok, Welso, Proform and Weider.

Nordic Track are known for the number of features they pack into their machines, even their lowest priced models starting at around £800 have features usually found on much more expensive machines. Most of their models use Reflex Deck^TM Technology that absorbs the impact of your stride and springs back to reduce the impact on your joints. If you're overweight or recovering from an injury this is a useful feature, whereas if you're a serious road-runner you may want a machine with a harder feel.

If your space is limited most of their models are compact compared to many other treadmills so this could be a factor in making your choice.

Never Mind The Features, What About The Quality?

In the past some have questioned the build quality of Nordic Track machines when compared to other brands in the same price range. However, more recent models appear to be better made which should improve their durability, an issue with previous models.

Recent improvements in quality are reflected in much better warranties now on offer. Nordic Track treadmill frames are now covered for 'life', the motor for 10 years plus a two year on-site parts and labour warranty. When compared to warranties offered by other manufacturers it compares pretty well. Some do offer superior warranties but where reviewers have needed to use it they found the service quick and parts replaced with no quibbles or hassle.

Nordic Track treadmills generally receive mixed reviews. If you like features and gadgets you'll love these machines. If quality, durability and reliability are important to you, look at the newer models we have reviewed below, they really seemed to have got their act together with the new C series range of machines.
